Version 4.0 features!

Here is an overview of the new features and changes included in PolyBoost 3.0

Curve Loop

Transform the selected edges/edgeloops into smooth curves where the curvature is defined by the position of selected vertices along the loop. Very intuative workflow!

Space Loop

Space vertices evenly along selected edges/edgeloops.

Straighten Loop

Turns selected edges/edgeloops into straight lines.

Circle Loop

Forms the selected edges/edgeloops into a circle

Relax Loop

Relaxes the curvature of the selected edges/edgeloops.

UV Lineup - multiple loops

Lineup/straighten multiple UV edgeloops simulaneously. Great timesaver.

UV Stitch

Stitch together selected uv seam vertices with their corresponding seam vertices
in a reliable way.

Similar

Can now select similar subobject elements based on all currently selected
elements.

PolyDraw

The Border tool can now also be used to add new geometry in screenspace,
which lets you drag out new polygons perpendicular to the view in perspective
view. Ability to move vertices in screenspace is also added as an option.

The Move tool can now also be used to move vertices, edges or polygons in
screenspace.

More features and fixes

  • DotLoop/DotRing can now be used to select multiple dotted loops/rings
    at once.
  • SetFlow can now be used on a vertex selection..
  • The PolyDraw tools are now on average 20-30 % faster.
  • UVW Unwrap selection tools completely rewritten for 3ds max 8 and higher to work reliably and within UV seams.. UV edge and vertex loops on seams is now also available.
  • CreatePolygon can now also be used on selected edges.
  • The ViewportCanvas brush can now be interactively resized while drawing.
  • Colorpicker added to the ViewportCanvas interface to sample color from view.
  • Additional standard brush added to ViewportCanvas.
  • Memory leak fixed in PolyDraw and ViewportCanvas.
  • Fixes a problem with having Showendresult turned on in PolyDraw.
  • Fixes a conflict with the DDS fileformat.

Available for download is also the PolyBoost user-reference with more extensive
descriptions of the tools and interface: Download

Some notes about the tools:
PolyBoost will work in 3ds max versions 5 - 9, 2008 and 2009. Most of the tools work on all subobjectlevels, so it's one tool for all modes. UVW-mapping is kept
intact for all the modeling tools and work with modifiers in the stack. Many tools
have an optional functionality when the shift key is pressed. This will either apply
the tool on the current selection only, or do another variation of the tool. Shortcuts
are available for all tools that do not require an interface in order to be useful. The
PolyBoost main interface, where all tools can be found is always available by
shortcut key or from a quadmenu.
